One of the most terrifying things about addiction is the associated crime that follows along with such a devastating problem. When someone is addicted to drugs and/or alcohol they enter into a life of manipulation, deceit, and violence. There are many reasons that go into this, any way the main suspect is that at last the drug or alcohol takes over and the someone becomes consumed with the need to attain more, regardless of what they have to do in order to perform that goal.

When a someone is first introduced to the world of drugs and alcohol they go in under the assumption that they will be able to vocalize their current life. They will be able to hold down a job, keep a family, and have money. It quickly becomes apparent that some of these necessities will have to go in order to keep spellbinding more drugs and alcohol. After awhile the only thing that remains are the drugs.

It has been noted that in areas where there is a high crime rating there is also a massive drug problem. This is not a coincidence. In fact, the two are basically joined at the hip.
