If you have ever experienced a friend with a drug problem, you may have gotten sick and tired of the all of the antics. You may have idea that every word out of the person's mouth was a lie. When you lose all of your faith in someone, it becomes very easy to just throw away the friendship. But, if you come to terms with the fact that the lies are there because your friend is sick, you can put yourself in the position to help. At the very least, you can avoid becoming an enabler of his/her habit.
I was positively a passenger in my friend's car when he decided to stop to buy drugs. I was unaware that he was going to do this and it was an awful experience. Fantasize the ride home after he made the purchase. The first thing I learned was that he must have been going there regularly because the dealer thorough an item as collateral in transfer for the drugs. He would leave his gas card or license until he came up with the money to pay them.
Drug For Addiction
He told me that he was not going to stop using drugs and that this was the last time. Over the next few weeks, I saw the parts of the inside of his car disappear. Door handles, whole panels, etc. positively he was trading this stuff in or selling it for drugs. Of policy the lies kept advent when I would examine what was going on.
The one thing that I Fantasize is a coarse in similar situations is the constant invite to borrow money or other items. Of policy the response you always give is that you don't have money to lend. For any items worth value, a flat out "No" will do. I would just come right out and say that I will need that today. They will test you and even argue with you. You have no selection but to remain strong. They do not perceive that you are trying to help them.
You have to act fast here because after a few declined requests, they will not perceive you again. Most of the time you will not hear from your friend for a few months. You never know what can happen to this person in this number of time. So get to know the signs and identify the lies. This way you can get the person help before it is too late.
